So in this article, I am going to share what new things I learned about SEO and how technical SEO is important for a website.

What is Technical SEO?

So basically what is technical SEO and how different or advance it is from basic SEO we are all doing for a long time. Well, in my view Technical SEO is surely an advanced step to rank your website or content on the very first page of search engine result page like- Google, Yahoo, Bing.

Technical SEO just alludes to any SEO work that is done beside the content. Basically, it's establishing a solid framework to give your content the most obvious opportunity to rank for important phrases and keywords.

If I have to discuss technical SEO in detail I would probably feel the need to write another blog about it. Instead, for now, I will go with the most important aspects of technical SEO from a beginners point of view.

Technical SEO: A checklist for higher ranking:

Step1: Check or Find Errors on your Website.

The first thing you must do in Technical SEO is find errors on your website. If your website has any technical errors then google will not index your website. So it is important to find and fix technical errors on your website if there’s any.

Step2: Check Website Structure

The other thing you should do while performing Technical SEO is to Check your website structure. For example how the pages and content of your website are assigned and linked to other pages. You should also check the internal linking of all the pages of your website. Website structure of your website should be good because through the structure of your website you can know your users experience on the website. Also, google give preference to well-structured websites to ranking on SERP.

Step3: Get rid of Duplicate content

This is such a basic that google penalize the website with duplicate content. Google give preference to website with unique content. So if your website has any duplicate content or even has 1% plagiarism, remove it as soon as possible and always post unique content on your website. Websites with unique content have high chances of getting ranking on the first page of Google.

Step4: Improve your website speed

Another very important aspect of technical SEO is website speed. What website you would prefer: one which loads in a few seconds or the one which takes a longer time to load and test your patience level? Obviously, the one which loads in few seconds right. Website with a longer loading time has a higher bounce rate. ANd Higher Bounce rate means your website users are not having a good experience. However, it is important to reduce website page loading time and improve website speed. And bonus point is you can check your website speed in just one minute and that too for free with Google page speed insights. Google page speed insights give you all the information and suggestion about your website to improve website speed.

Step5: Website Security

From the past few years, Google gives preference to secured website. So what Secured website are actually are? You must have heard of HTTP and HTTPS. HTTPS sites know as SSL secured websites. This means the content, theme of the website is unique. Google gives more preference to SSL approved website rather than HTTP or non-secure websites.

Step6: Make your website mobile-friendly

How many of you open your laptop when you want to gain knowledge of something or even just look for something? Smartphones are ruling the market these days. Every one of us google for anything from about smartphones in just a minute. That’s why it is important to make your website mobile-friendly.  Test your website with google free mobile-friendly checker tool to discover what pages don’t load on mobile phones and fix them to create a smooth user experience.

Technical SEO just don’t end with fixing some errors on your website. You have to measure and analyze the impact of this on your website ranking and know what actually works for you and what’s not. And on this plan your future activities to ranking your website.
